Born in Stuttgart I have lived and worked in Berlin since 2018. My studio is located in Europe’s largest listed building industry areas on the banks of the river Spree in Berlin-Oberschöneweide, Atelierhaus79.

In my artistic work, focussed on painting, I aim at getting to the bottom of things and phenomena that are around me. Hence I don’t remain on the surface and the primarily visible, but look for the effects that are behind the surface and let them come forward.

For me these are mainly complexity and intensification in contrast with transparency and filigree structure. Basically – what is it that I see behind the visible. As a consequence light and the luminosity of colours play the major roles in my work.

The subjects of my paintings develop in synchronicity with their colourfulness; there are aspects and manifestations of the primary colours in things, phenomena and abstractions. Colourfulness and subject stand together in a dialogue full of creative tension.

Art for me has three main dimensions: content, skillfulness and aesthetics. Content relates to the complexity of all that is and skillfulness to how the techniques used support the content. Aesthetically beauty is an important element as long as it is not mere surface. On the gallery page I present you with a selection of art works from the different series existing.
